Thats ridiculous... Look, I don't want to do my own service as much as the next guy - I actually choose to go to the Dealership Service Center because there are some garuntees we get by using them - So I'm not going to say you did wrong, but you sure as hell didnt play it smart. My 30k Maintenance was probably around $160 after everything... and thats at the dealership! Granted, cabin filter / air filter cleaning (F-Sport) I do myself, but that engine business I leave to someone else. I got -ish to do.

It is probably best that you look at your service manual and ask for the services NEEDED specifically. I purchase parts online, show up and tell them what I need done. Simple. Now thats because I know if some of those inspection items are going bad - but in no way am I mechanically inclined. I hope your next service goes better jgr7.

a win is a win I guess.

Whatever helps you sleep at night boss.

If you are going to do the service at least make the most of it. They can pick up your car and drop off a loaner at your front door. Nice feature to have with a new/CPO vehicle.

They tried to tell me that I needed plugs on my last visit. They quoted $275!!! How can you guys justify paying that kind of markup. The plugs are $10ea worst case. I just couldnt bring myself to drop that kind of money for spark plugs.

Is $275 for just the plugs or is that including the 3 hour labor they charge?

If that includes labor, that's not bad for a dealership price

it takes time to do spark plugs, 1.5 hrs or so. You dont want someone to rush it and strip your spark plug threads in the engine block.

Yes it is nice, just got a call today from my service guy, he is picking up my car Sat night dropping a loaner and having the recall headlights replaced and bringing it back Sun night. Easy Peasy.
