Just Purchased Used... Something Strange
Hey All,
First post, never thought I'd end up here, but pretty excited to be with a great group of enthusiasts and lexus drivers!
Just purchased a used 2008 IS 250 AWD. Love it. Clean car fax and everything... looked for damage and didn't see any.
But one strange thing, my model has the illuminated scuff plates, and the passenger side wasn't working. Thanks to the forum I popped off the plastic cover, and it simply wasn't plugged in. There was also a small piece of stuck plastic baggie. Everything looked fine, and there is a scuff or two on the interior panel itself that makes me think it wasn't brand new. Anyways, probably nothing, but thought I'd ask what your thoughts were. Too late to take it back now, but I'm just kind of curious.
Think it's possible the dealership I bought it from, when detailing the vehicle, popped it off and simply neglected to plug it back in? I just can't imagine why it would be unplugged.

The stuck plastic bag like material are from when the car was delivered. If it wasn't all pulled off properly you'll notice it sometimes. My car was like that too when it was used, previous owner never even pulled off most of the plastics/warnings stickers lol
