No offense, but i think you are going to burn out those bulbs/ballast really quick.

I wouldn't think a 15watt HID bulb for 5-15seconds max would be an issue as far as heat.

Touche!

I can see the quick on/off being an issue for the bulbs/ballasts, to that end if they blow and I'm out $30, oh well. However, I obviously don't want to cause any physical damage to the car either. With a ballast, I would assume it would not cause voltage issues and damage the harness. If heat isn't an issue either, I would consider it.

As always, I do appreciate the input from more experienced members.

Any input here Rolando?

It's that initial spike HID's need that may be the worst for the wiring.

I can definitely see how having them flash even for a split second while going from Park to Drive or something would quickly shorten the life of the bulbs.

Personally i always wanted hid for my reverse but never did it because 35 watt too hot it melted my cousin back lights and thats what people usually do 15 watt cause no harm i let the lights on for 8 min to see how hot they get but they didnt get hot to the point it causes damage is a def must get and btw i got the switch for the people that tailgate
