Correct, your dealer will need to confirm the noise.

Jeff, is this campaign available in Canada, specifically in Calgary?

Default Any videos?

Does anyone have a video of what this sounds like? I just bought an 08 MT IS 250, and hear a noise every once and a while while shifting that I'm having a hard time describing to my mechanic. He looked at the car and didn't find any problems, but I'm still hearing it.
Thanks!

I had this done to my car about 2 months ago and I can tell you that on my 07 it was night and day. The shifting is a lot more precise (feels almost like my Integra). Also the clutch pedal is a lot softer (I actually prefer the harder pedal of the un-sprung disk) but I can live with it.

For those of you that want to have this done just tell your dealer that you get strange noises coming from the Gearbox while shifting and they’ll look into it. Also make sure you tell the service advisor your can is a manual transmission (mine assumed mine was automatic) so they write up the service ticket correctly.

Once they find the noise be prepared to wait about two weeks to get your car back as they’ll have to special order the gearbox and clutch/pressure plate as it is not a part that is kept in stock.

The pressure plate isn't replaced, so pedal pressure shouldn't have changed, unless your throwout bearing wasn't moving as easily as it should have, which could affect pedal feel.

My work order has the clutch disk and pressure plate, not sure about the throwout bearing but I'll double check when I get home.

I'm taking my 08 in for this on Thursday. We'll see if they hear the sound and if they replace it. Not looking forward to not having my car for 2 weeks. I know I'll get a loaner car that will be newer, but I got my car as a stick for a reason! I'll let you all know how it goes

Went to the dealership to get a couple recalls taken care of and also had them take a look at this issue. According to the TSIB that Lexus sent out, every car that has this issue will be covered IF your car is under 70,000 miles and is under 6 years old from it's original manufacture date.
So if anyone on here is wanting to get this taken care of and getting close to either of those I'd suggest you get it done asap!

Well I'm happy to report that after having this done to my car she still feels better than when I first bought her. Now I'm just waiting for my powertrain warranty to expire before I install my Findanza Flywheel.

I have an 08 MT IS250 and I'm hearing the "jar of marbles" sound, especially in stop and go conditions (or as the car warms up). Is this something totally different from the "squeak or grinding noise" mentioned in the TSB? I'm at 56K miles so I'd like to get this done if possible.

Also, anybody have videos of the sound yet?
