Default Hid ?

I got me the slim ballast HID kit from DDMtuning. I ordered the 8000k H11 for the headlight and 3000k 9006 for the foglight. I took it to a shop to get it installed. They installed the headlight one but said that I got the wrong bulb for the foglight. Isnt the foglight the 9006/HB4 bulb ?

Also the 8000k to me barely looked brighter than my stock HID. So was thinking of buying a 10000k or 12000k. Is 10000k a big difference from the 8000k ?

Thanks.

9006 is the rite size even say it on the oem bulbs. 8k is has a less out put then a 4300k which is what factory hid use. You said you have stock hid or halogen? I would say go with 6k or even 5k. The higher you go the less output you'll get.

So 9006 is the right size ? He said I needed a D4S bulb, I was thinking what ?? I have the factory stock 4300k HID and it pretty much looks the same. I thought it would have a hint of blue since my friend has a 8000k HID but not DDM and it has a hint of blue.

So the regular 9006 from DDMtuning should fit in the foglight right ? Just gotta make sure before I buy another one.

The higher you go for the HID, does that mean that it produces more heat too ? Like does a 8000k produce more heat than a 10000k ? Im a noob, and just wondering cause my inside of the headlight is showing signs if bubbling.

D4 is what you need for your factory hid low beam. H11 for low beam non hid headlamp. 9006 is your foglight correct. Most quality hid bulbs like philip ultinon run 6k on D4. Or garax has 6k & 8k in d4s. Higher you go the less you'll get for lumen to see on the road. What years is your IS?

2011 there a TSB for the bubble effect on your headlight take it to the dealer. They should upgrade you to the 2012 headlamp which has the fix for the bubble. So go get a D4s bulb for your hid and your good 9006 on your fog lights.

They won't replace his lights. He has halogens.

Also you need H11 for the fogs, not 9006.

I though it was the other way around, isnt it H11 for headlights and 9006 for fogs?

On 2011+ it is H11 for both fogs and halogen lows. 06-10 was H11 low, 9006 fog.

All factory HID's are D4S.

Sounds like he either doesn't have factory HID's, if the H11 kit worked for the lows, or they used your H11 kit for the fogs, gave you back your 9006 kit, and told you to get D4S bulbs for the headlights. The second seems likely.

I agree with Jeff, thing is you were never supposed to order a 9006 kit. Your headlights if infact are HID, are D4S. Fogs are H11.

Wait, so both the headlight and foglight for the 2011 is the same ? H11 ?

They got my lowbeam installed 8000k H11 but just not the foglight, cause I got the 9006.

If they installed H11's in your headlights, then you didn't have factory HID's.

And yes, they are both H11's on 2011 if your car didn't come with HID's. If it did, the headlights would be D4S and the fogs would still be H11.

10k will have less then 8k light output. The HIGHER you go, the LESS light output and it becomes more blue.

55watt 8000k DDM is super bright and pretty much crisp white.

Did you order 35w or 55w?
