No OEM Thing Roof Spoiler for Matador Red :-(
So I ordered the O.E.M. Thing roof spoiler off Ebay last week. When I got it, it does not match.
I contacted the vendor and they asked for a pic (the one below) and a pic of my color code. After reviewing the pics, they said if they send another one it will have the same problem. They are offering a $30 credit to have it repainted locally. I am completely certain I can not have it repainted for that price (I will find out later this week for sure).
Just wanted others who are interested to be aware :-(

It should cost like $80ish to repaint it, if not cheaper. My Wald trunk cost me $100 to repaint, and it's substantially bigger than the roof spoiler. Sand it and primer it yourself just to save a buck or two. :P

I would file a dispute with Paypal. Unfortunately, you will have to bite the shipping back. Make double sure you leave a bad feedback. This is not a good seller... I have done it a few times. When you file the dispute, makr sure you attached the photo as well. Paypal is pretty decent and they will definitely side with you.

Sanding and priming it would be pretty unnecessary. He could just scuff the whole thing by hand with red scotch brite. As far as cost to paint it will mostly depend on the hourly rate of whatever shop he chooses and how expensive their paint is. I think an hour would be plenty of time for a painter to scuff and shoot something like that.

Looks like you get a bad one
I got mine from OEM.Thing, it's not a perfect match at all, but I have SFP so it was expected.
Shipping the spoiler back isn't really a great option, it will be at your cost and for shipping back to Taiwan, you might as well take the $30 credit. You can file a Paypal claim I guess and see if you can get your money back that way, but since the seller offered you a solution already, not sure how well it will work in your favor.
