Traded CT for IS
Traded my month old CT for an IS250 F-Sport today... ultrasonic blue with 40 miles on the clock. Just wasn't feeling the CT, looked too much like a Mazda 3 haha. Getting kinda old to do the whole mod thing all over again. Its looks pretty good stock. I know once I start I won't be able to stop. Hopefully I won't start.

LOL at giving in!
I had a CT loaner on Tuesday. I enjoyed it. I did notice a similarity to the Mazda though lol crazy you say that. Wow you traded a month old car in?! Musta took a huge hit or you work for the dealership. Either way congratz and even though you don't want to.... Happy moddin

How does someone buy a car (whether new or used, but particularly new) and then decide shortly thereafter to trade it in for something else?
I would expect for a purchase of such magnitude that people would do their research, learn everything they can about the car, drive it a few times, maybe even take it home for a night or two, and to do all the same things with any other cars they're considering. So how is it then that, assuming you do the above (which any reasonable person should), you determine within a month that you should have gotten something else? What could have arisen or become apparent in that time that didn't come apparent in the period you were researching and considering cars?
I'm not criticizing, I'm genuinely interested because I personally do extensive research prior to any purchase decision, particularly one as large and important as a car. And I can't possibly imagine doing research for weeks on cars, finally settling on one, then buying it and finding I didn't like it as much and wanting to trade it in. That's because I'd have made sure to figure that kind of stuff out ahead of time.
Now it's an entirely different thing when something unforeseen comes up. I bought an E55 that was well-maintained, low mileage, and in great condition, and within 6 months it had racked up $15,000 in repair bills, so I traded it in for my IS. Clearly I didn't know it would suffer such terrible reliability and problems all at once, and that's why I traded it in. But I never would have traded it in or sold it just because I didn't like it, because I made sure prior to purchase that I did.

I'm an impulse buyer when it comes to cars. I've had over 80 cars since the mid 90s. I've had more Lexus and Benzs then most people have had shoes. I've modded everything from Evos to VWs to Benzs to Lexus. Once again Im back with another one. Most notable of my past mods, a full WALD LS430, full Lorinser CLK, tons of stuff in between that I can't even recall. I've won 1st and I've been on mag covers. Then one day I just realized one day I was dumping tons of money into cars and decided to hold back a little. I guess the bug will never leave haha. You know it was Mariano's vid on FB that made me think, damn that looks HOT! I want one lol. Like now, so I went and got one.
The CT is great when it comes to gas mileage, a glorified Prius if you will, I have one of those too... It just doesn't feel like a Lex. Its small and cramped, tons of road noise, and really does kinda look like a Mazda3, Matrix, bunch of other Japanese hatchbacks. I get around 45-50mpg in the Prius. The CT before the wheels was averaging low to mid 30s. Storage space was much less than the Prius as well.
If I really spent that much time considering one car over another I probably wouldn't have had half the cars I've had lol. I paid for the CT used, had about 3k on the clock for 35 otd. It had nav, leather, bunch of other stuff so it was a decent deal. I got 31 on trade and picked up the IS250 for 37.5, with nav and F-sport I think its a decent deal. With fees and whatever in between, Im out of pocket about 8k. Its a slight upgrade and I can mod the hell out of it if I decide to. So Im happy for now.
