If time wasn't critical, you could of ordered from Tire Rack or something; it's normally where I get my tires from and have them shipped directly to the tire installer.

LOL and so true!

Dude the only thing that connects your multi-thousand pound car to the road are tires. Buy turds at your own risk.

Agreed and on top of that, this is a "Lexus"!! Not a low-end brand car.

two things you don't want to be cheap about on a car. Tires and brakes. good tires help in stopping distance.

Hmm.

Well, my Lexus dealership price matched onlinetires.com for 19" Hankook Ventus v12 tires. I think the key is making sure you build a relationship with someone at the dealership that can help you fight for good pricing. In fact, I just got an OK for Sewell price matching on any parts they carry as long as I go through the guy I know there. Not bad I say give the dealerships a chance just do your homework first.

Also - $488 for tires with mounted and balanced? What brand, size tires? onlinetires.com has some of the best pricing I have seen. My Hankooks were $735.69 delivered.

Sounds like the OP did not get the best tires but you could pay a hell of a lot more than $600 bucks for a set of 4 tires.

Kumos are lower end tires they arent necessary bad they just have a different market than a pilot sport or conti extreme does. I think the in between for the two is the Hankook Ventus V12 which is what I run on my cars right now. So really a kumo tire is like a pilot sport as a V6 Accord is to an IS350. The accord is a great car and provides alot of value and reliability but the IS350 is a lux car and caters to different taste. Kumos will hold air and provide a decent amount of traction and their speed ratings are all youll ever need but the higher end tires we mentioned go above and beyond in their added handeling improvments and quiet/soft ride.
