Thanks for the info. From everyone's experience, it looks like it may be here somewhere from 2.5 months to 6 months, but hopefully some where in the middle... I agree with everyone that a luxury car should have luxury features. Xanadu350 hit it right on the head. My dealer said they never ordered the IS with the Luxury Plus package because nobody wanted them. I shook his hand to reintroduce myself and said 'Hi, I am a customer and I'm asking for it!' He then highlighted the special order procedures...
As to why I don't want to wait for the 3IS, I started shopping back in July and narrowed it down to three cars and by October had decided that the IS was much cooler than any of the other two. We had a few IS250 loaners to help confirm that was what I wanted. At that time, there was no info on the next gen IS anywhere. Meanwhile, my '99 Olds is leaking oil, power steering fliuid, washer fluid and the AC is gone. I can't wait however many months for any new generation, even if I had known about it back in December. Like JLsaid above, I am perfectly fine with the looks of the 2IS. It is generations above a hand-me-down '99 Olds 88.
mikez, you have given the most precise time durations for shipping, but I really think we get all the cars on the east coast through the Port of Jacksonville. So, not sure how many days that would add on. Maybe they truck them up to Nycxazn11 in New York.
BTW, Nycxazn11, not sure what you can ask for on the contract, but did they put in writing 80-120 days on the contract? If so, you have leverage for a broken contract.

imo 6 months is on the extreme side. i got mine after 6 months last year, BUT that's with the earthquake/tsunami/stop production in the middle of it. So without the disaster, i woulda gotten it within the 3-4 month time frame i was quoted.
as for the 3IS, word is it won't be revealed/released till a year from now as a 2014 model, so it's at least a year out still before we see the 3IS.

2014 for the 3IS...? Then I'm really good with the 2IS. Maybe after they get the kinks worked out and SEMA catches up to the new style, I would consider the next jump. Thanks r22
I would expect 6 months to be very extreme. Almost obscene.
Forgot to mention, Kid2012, yours has everything mine will have except for the color. Good taste!

wow thats crazy...i have the memory seats on my 2SC and I always forget to use them, and i dont use the tilting side mirrors either...Im in Tampa too and my brother just picked up an 11 Fsport 350...that was hard to find. When I bought my car I went in looking for a Black on Black with Nav/HID/18s/Spoiler but they had one arrive that same day with everything except it was tan interior so they reduced the price on it so I took it. In retrospect I should have bought the black on black 06 350 I test drove but since the 250 new was about the same price as the 350 used I made the choice that I made....man i got hosed lol oh well!

Yea on the contract it states 80-120 days. I even asked what if car doesnt arrive on time. they said I can void the contract and not want the car anymore. I ask for update once a month, he tells me its on schedule and nothing else. So once i found out it's going to arrive later I told him I wanted to be compensated, he kept avoiding the subject. I even told him to just issue me a refund for my deposit and they can call me when the car actually arrives, he says he will get back to me which he never call back since LAST MONDAY the 20th. I already waited 4 months for the car, its what i want but if i receive no compensation im just gonna go get a bmw or audi.

From date of order it will take 4-5 months until you see it in Tampa. I special ordered 2 IS's from Lexus of Tampa Bay. One took 5 months and one took 4 months. Lexus is great at a lot of things but special ordering is not one of them. They will be the first to admit this. BMW and Audi can almost pinpoint the day will see your car. Hang in there. It will be worth it. As for compensation I would not push the issue too hard but I would try and get the wheel and tire package for free or pay up to $300. It was $400 when I bought. Now I think it is around $700. I wish I bought this. PM me if you have any questions.

Got a call from my salesman with the delivery date - March 23! Less than 3 weeks away!
So, from the date the actual order was placed - December 15, 2011, until delivery on (or about) March 23, 2012, it will be 99 calendar days. Just over the 3 month estimate, but well under the 4 or 5 moth estimates.
We will need to see how close they are on the delivery estimate.
Keppie, Yes, it finally was ordered through LofTB. Either I got in on a good order date, or they are improving their special orders. Probably the first.
