this is the second time i've encountered this problem. i've taken it to the dealership and they've "replaced" my light a few months ago, but it's happening all over again!

anyone else have this issue? & what's going on with it?

are you using aftermarket hids?? i've had aftermarket 5k bulbs and they caused my headlights to have moisture. i put the oem ones back in and no more moisture

Exactly what I was thinking. Perhaps aftermarket bulds just aren't sealing 100% there. Try using OE bulbs instead to see if it goes away.

Otherwise, throw some rice on it there. LOL!

My passenger side headlight just recently started getting moisture as well i really do not want to go to back to Lexus service cause i do have an aftermarket hid kit and i have a strong feeling Lexus will blame this for the condensation ?? I might just go back to the shop that did the install to see if they can tighten up whatever it needs to get rid of the moisture ???

if you have aftermarket HID then that is exactly the reason why you have moisture in the headlight. If you drilled the dust cover then it probably means you need to reseal it again since it came lose.

It's a simple fix. Use a hairdryer to dry out the moisture inside then seal it up again.

i do have aftermarket HIDs & that is exactlyyy what the issue was.

i took my car in today. here's the scoops (the way i understand it):
the wiring on the driver's side needs a little bit more slack than the passenger's side to compensate for the windshield wiper fluid. in the case of my car, the wiring is too short so it creates some pull away from the housing. this results in a little gap in the protective seal and that's how moisture/dust/etc. get in.

how to fix?
rewire to give more slack or use sealant to cover up the gap.

probably both. Sealant will only be temporary if your wire is pulling.

this happens to me a few times a year. Usually when its cold outside and I'm driving at night. It really depends on the weather for me. Summer and Fall usually is fine, but during cold winter nights, it will come but go away be itself. I tried blow drying it out and it is all dry, but after closing the lid back it comes back if its cold outside at night. Doesn't bother me much since it only happens a few times a year.

I do not think it is the aftermarket HID lights, unless I guess you have different ones then I do. (I have nothing special, just what everyone else has ordered.) This happened to me when I had my oem lights in, then when I changed out to my HID lights it stayed like that for a few weeks, then it went away and I have not had the problem since and I run my car through a car wash all the time and I am in Utah with plenty of rain and snow. I have yet to have it come back.

Ive had this happen to me once but it went away after 3-4 days. I have yet to have another issue but Im not complaining lol
