Did yours "flake off"? Or just peel all the way? Mine is very flaky. It looks similar to old, dried out electrical tape flaking off.

On mine im thinking of putting small drops of krazy glue and pressing working my way through the whole trim. It would be pointless to replace the trim as all it is, is vinyl. Worst case take it to a sign shop they can put new vinyl in for you. Or if you can find a thick paint stripe and just trim to fit.

Bumping the old thread, has anyone swap out their molding or has a DIY?

That happen to mine I just removed it and sprayed plastic dip on all the chrome. Looks like it came from the factory with black trim. Looks good.

Don't try gluing it don't work will only make it worse trust me I tried. You three options buy new and replace, live with it, or do what I did

Yep, just now mine has started to bubble on the passenger's front door. Really disappointed. This is what you see on old GM and Hondas. Should have lasted much longer than five years. I'm curious what Lexus will say when I call them.

Mine is perfectly fine. For those who have this problem, are your cars not garaged?

Mines been garaged since new. I've also lightly waxed the chrome and plastic trim around the windows (it goes on and off very easily and doesn't soak in), which removes rain spots and should technically add a layer of protection from the sun and elements.
I saw a 2006 the other day and the entire black was gone below the window. Looked terrible.

I don't think super glue will work but maybe rubber cement? But it will be hard to apply with a brush.

i did the same thing and it looks good and i don't even have to worry about all that unnecessary bull**** vinyl that i assume would just peel off eventually anyways. much cheaper to black out with plasti dip when necessary and i love the blacked out look vs the chrome trim.
