Thinking of going HID on the fogs but wondering if 35watt may be a bit too bright for fog lights. Whats the general consensus out there regarding HID fogs?

Did you mean 35w and 55w? Never heard of a 25 watt ballast/HID system.

35w is good though. It's still going to be bright, because its a HID in a halogen reflector housing, but 55w is just too bright lol.

never heard of 25w either. stick with 35w. 55w is too much and runs the risk of burning up your harness

Wouldn't the fuse pop instead of melting/burning the harness?

I actually meant 25w, did a quick google search for them and they do exist although harder to find than 35w of course. A buddy of mine got 35w HID's for his vehicle and mentioned he wished he'd have gotten 25watt balasts instead becuase he thought they were too bright which is why I brought up the question here. Looks like not many are using them on their IS

As far as 55w and melting harnesses is concerned, aren't the standard halogens 55 watt?

35W should be fine. 55W would not recommend from what was mention in the above and also it could be a legality issue with the brightness and shorter life span of using 55W as well.

if you run a relay probably but i know some people dont. a member in the 3GS forum ran his fogs with a 55w kit and burnt up his harness.

I have a 3000k 55w for my fogs for about 7 months now. They're much better then my 3000k 35w. For some reason the 35w didn't always fire up. Maybe it was the ballast, who knows.

Go with 35w, 55w HID's just blind the crap out of everyone much more and run hotter than 35w bulbs.
