chances of bending 19" rims?
im considering getting 19's with 235/35/19 tires but i'm worried that the tires are gonna be to skinny. Where I live there are a good amounts of potholes. Ive bent my 18" rims in the past with 225/40/18 tires on my last car.

I have been rolling with 19s with 235/35/19 in the past two years until this winter i decided to put on the stockies
drive slow, avoid potholes as much as possible....
i've driven the car around the tri-state and bent/cracked rims around 3-4 times...
sometimes you get lucky
but then you hit potholes hard enough you get that "bam!!!" and you know something is going to go wrong...
and watch out for curbs also... i cut one of my tires because a truck going really fast was behind me and i was going into a gas station... =\

Depends on the type of rim. Some are stronger than others. Forged rims resist bending unlike cast rims. However, if you hit a pothole hard enough with a forged rim, instead of bending, it will crack.
Also, rims with large spokes are usually more resistaant than thin spoked rims.

with the new trend of running tires that are 10 sizes too small for the wheels they are on to create a vatos locos pep boys truck look it will be easy to bend the rim. But if you get some 19x9.5 and 19x8.5 wheels with 275/30/19 rear and 235/35/19 front, you should be fine if you don't buy cheapo rims.

Mesh rim (BBS Style) usually be the most strongest compared to larger-and-less spokes design (e.g., Five spokes design) because more spokes mean better impact distribution over the rim. Due to Large-and-less spoke design, the rim will be subjected to higher uneven load distribution across the the circumference under the impact.
