Thanks all again with you help. I will meet the owner tomorrow and see the car and negotiate the price and try to see how low he can go. What do think is the best price for the car?

Hello CL members,
I have been watching the threads and replies for over a year now and finally decided to join the club. I am an international student from Saudi Arabia studying in Los Angeles and its my senior year. I have been looking for a clean used lexus lately and i found one that i fell in love with. its an F-Sport is 250 2011. it has 4900 miles and it still smells like a brand new lexus. the owners is asking $34,000 for it. The owner is my friends father. The car fax is clean and its a 1-owner. I just have couple of questions that i want you to help me with.
I checked the record through lexus website and it only has one service which was inspection @ 4000 miles.
What else should i look for?
Were there any recalls on 2011 is250?
What is the price for a brand new is 250 f sport? i saw the price tag for his, it was $41,433.
What do you think about the price he is asking? what is a good price for a car like this?
Give some tips to check before i purchase the car. i am planning to buy it this friday.
Thanks !

Alaykum Alsalam, I do not care a lot about the engine as i care about the interior + exterior. for the price difference, i would prefer getting the is250. I drove one and i really like it. unless you find one for a good price ;p

Since I use my car as a daily driver and do drive it for long distances (ie. driving between Seattle and Vancouver, Canada), the 250 was practical for me plus the luxury look. Also it is comparable to my 99 Solara Camry which was a 3.0L 200 HP V6 back in the day, with the 250 being an improvement to the fuel efficiency.
On average, I get about up to 644 km / 400 miles on a tank with highway/city mixed going on my routes on average. A 350 would not be able to do this doing the same thing and also overtime, it will cost you one extra tank refill in comparison with the 250 for the distance.
If I was driving it for short distances and more for leisure, I would personally consider the 350.
