I have the glossy black vinyl on mines. It's going to fade over time because of the sun and when you wash your car, etc. Even though mine has faded a little it still looks good. It's been almost a year and I still get compliments and people often mistake it for paint. There wasn't a lot of custom body or tint shops around here that could do the black vinyl surprisingly, so I just went to one of those Fast Signs companies and had them do it for me. If you go to one of those places they should be able to provide the glossy black or any other vinyl you want.

^^Thanks alot I'm thinking of buying the 3M Gloss black for mine. Any way to protect it from the sun? I'm seeing if its actually worth it, I'd paint but if I wanted to sell the car in future no ordinary person would want a black roof

There's not much you can do to protect it from the sun. Just avoid any harsh chemicals or car washes.

I can't give you a definite answer, but so far I don't have any scratches. Not much you can do to roof vinyls that could damage it...unless you park under a tree or something.
