Default What to do?

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've posted on these forums but i have a problem and i wanted some opinions from the more knowledgable people on here. Within the past 2 months, I've taken my car to the dealership (Longo Lexus) 7 times for the exact same issue; a CEL accompanied with rough idling and jerky driving. They've replaced the MAF sensors, some gaskets, and an O2 sensor but still cannot seem to fix the problem. I know the Lemon Law only applies to newer cars but is there anything that applies to my car? (2006 IS350 with 60k miles) Is there anything that I can do?

Almost sounds like the Carbon Build up issue the 250's suffer from.

But 7 times you say?! Have they tried a top engine clean just to see?

I think they have; at this point only the shop foreman and lead mechanic are working on my car and they still can't seen to fix it. I thought about the carbon build up issue as well and brought it up to my advisor but he said that that couldn't be the issue so I don't know what to say haha

Lots of service advisors and mechanic think and act like doctors. They know everything and you my friend are no mechanic so in thier eyes, you really dont know anything. You should been given a copy of what ever they claim they have performed on your car in attemp to repair. Take that information and find a dealership that is willing take the challenge that the other dealership could not fix. Sometimes a different set of eyes is all it takes. Seven times...really!

Have they pulled any specific codes?

Have they tried replacing any of the coil packs?

I agree, a second opinion can do wonders. I've been told for two different occasions my part was broken and the repair was going to be 500+. I went to another dealership to check it out and they fixed it for me without replacing the part.

I currently have issues with a 2006 IS250. Take a look at my post and experience.

I hope this may help you with your car.

Whatever codes they've pulled are pointing it towards the MAF sensor

If I were you I would be all over the dealership as well as corporate. I think after going in 3 times for the same issue and not getting it resolved, I would be pushing on them unrelentingly to either 1) get someone in who can really fix it or 2) buy my car. Honestly I think the only thing would be to keep at them, calling corporate and not settling for less.

i think they already performed the top engine clean, but in any case, i called corporate today and they sent all my info and the records of the service thats been performed to date to a specialist. From there, they are either going to a) send someone out to get it fixed or b) buy it back since it's still under warranty as a CPO. I'll keep everyone updated on what happens, but so far, I'm pretty impressed with the level of service
