My spin on a car dock for my cell phone ( Samsung Galaxy S / Epic ).
*I prefer the non-nav radio in this car ( however I wish I could get bluetooth without it)
*The phone is a Samsung Epic. It has been more then a YEAR since it's release and samsung has released CRAPPY OS after crappy OS for this phone.
*CM7 finally became available for this phone recently and made it a TOTALLY new experience in a positive way but the car dock function didn't work.
*Someone out there fixed it via a software update FOR FREE. It amazes me how people out there will make something work for free, in the name of "good will"
I had to remove the cig ashtray cover in order to make it work, but my main thing behind this is that I use my phone as my media hub central.
It has:
-Google music, which is linked to my home theater pc library (1000's of songs)
-Sirius (via their app)
-Slacker Radio (free, considering paying for it now that this dock works)
-Stitcher ( listen to a show called "Nick and Artie" on it, plus 100's of radio pod casts)
Anyway onto the pics!
Home screen.

Ok, to answer a few questions:
The phone it self has no touch wiz on it....or any trace of samsung's software. It was built from the ground up by this awesome group named Cyanogen
Here's a link to where you get it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1427645
Here's some videos on how to install

Once you have CM7 installed, the Ice cream sandwich themes are available in the market.
I'll get a picture of it without being in the dock later today...
So far so good.. I did have to put a few pieces of electrical tape on the bottom right of the dock so that it'd stop turning the volume down on me.

ha! I was looking for a post i had seen a while back about what to do with your ashtray area and wanted to post what i had just done and stumbled upon this. J3ffrey you and I are on the same wavelength! i swear i didnt see this before I posted on here. looks great J3ffrey!
I had to disassemble the sliding tray concealing the ashtray and lighter. I detached the plug and relocated beneath the tray and plugged in under the tray to feed power to the dock. Now, I have power to recharge my phone on the dock and obviously bluetooth audio through my OEM system. It works well.
