Ridiculous price quotes on accessories you got from dealers

I scratched up one of my side skirts and check the price for a replacement, they told me $450+paint...going to order the painted gfx ones from sewell tomorrow for $110 along with some $4 oil filters and $13 wiper inserts. my dealer wanted $13 for each wiper insert.

$70 for a wheel key.....in the owners manual there's an order form for a replacement for $14.95. Showed it to the dealer and they said they'll reduce it to $50. Sales guy said "do you want it now or do you want to wait for it in the mail?"
....yeah, I think I'll wait a few days in the mail and save the $35.

my dealer sells the wiper inserts for same price as sewell, they got somewhat close on my brakes and calipers however i still got raped on their labor...i asked about fsport springs and intake and the different for both was around 200 bucks 175 of that I think was intake because they werent far off on springs. They said the charge 5 hours of labor for springs.

This is how they are making money, i think only dump people go to dealer to install they parts or to get fixed when car has no warranty, even if its under warranty they screw warrant company charging for parts that they didnt change it , if you guys give attention after you go to service in weeks or in month something else breaks in your car thats for 100% they all want you rip off!
Thats why i try to fix myself most of the time or i just take to my local shop, last year they quote me $50 to change each strut total 200$. But i did myself but what lexus dealer trying to charge u its too much, even if they charge u 100$ for hour of labor, each spring will take 25 min to change it.

Understand that Lexus still targets an older crowd. The same crowd who atleast not yet, has caught up with the internet. Yes sometimes those ridiculous prices will make even a senior citizen go home and double think, but it doesn't mean that is always the case. Instead check books come out and outrageous invoices get paid.
Back on topic, I was quoted $2700 for the Nav unit and $2200 for labor. Brand new unit installed for a small $5k.

1600 f sport exhaust 350 to install.
eBay 800 install myself....
Dealerships labor rates go by other local shops prices.
Also the service advisor has a quota to meet each month in hours of labor sold. Their pay is directly connected to how many hours they sell. Commission. Plus your average service advisor don't know too much about cars. Just the ones they service.

F-sport Springs:
My local dealer quoted me $275 per spring, plus an additional $250 per spring to install. This would have been a total of $2,100 for Fsport springs! I told them that they were mistaken and it should be $275 for the set + $250 to install all 4, but they assured me that their pricing was correct.
I ended up buying the set for $210 from Lexus of Westminster and having them installed for $200 at a private shop.

I'm up to an oil change on my recently purchase Lexus. Called the dealer and got $85 for a synthetic oil and $35 for a regular. Really is that the difference between mineral and synthetic , more than double?

How about the way out of line prices the Stealerships charge to install air,and cabin air filters. I bought a big order from Sewell when I first joined this great CL community. The discount was good, and it was all OEM(filters, all weather mats, leather cleaner, sunshields).
