Trunk hasn't changed in any of the 2IS models. My replica wald spoiler the fitment really wasn't off by much at all. You can see the pic of it on page 1 before I molded it where the slight gap. From what I have heard even the authentic wald spoiler isn't perfect fitment. So it all comes down to how much money you wanna spend. I wouldn't spend an extra 400+ just for "slightly" better fitment or bragging rights to just say you have the authentic. But thats just me. Plus I see no sense in buying authentic if you are gonna mold it anyways.
Some people, like me, REFUSE to support knock off parts for our cars. Not only do they not fit properly, but you are putting money in the hands of people who are making a living off of copying the designers at WALD. I prefer support to the company who originally made these parts, so they can continue making parts for our cars. The only time I find it understandable for "knock offs" to be made is because the original part is no longer in production (for example, the IS300's L-Tuned front bumper, ect.)

I didn't know a good number of members had their Wald spoilers molded on the trunk. Flows so much better, especially with Wald spoiler.
MARIANO: you're definitely in a different level. Your # of awards only shows.

I'm sorry, I'm going to have to completely disagree with you here.

Not everyone has money to blow, as long as quality is good I could really care less bc when it comes down to it its just a spoiler. I wouldn't buy a replica performance part bc that would really make a difference in the performance of your car vs a spoiler, lip kit etc its just cosmetics. Who cares? Big companies are gonna keep making money regardless of whether there are other companies replicating their products or not.
I'm just sayin' man, don't account everyone who buys authentic as people who just want to be "show-off".
This is a good overview as to why many choose to not buy fake parts:

Either way, the Wald spoilers in this thread (authentic or not), are looking good! I'll have to post up better pictures of my fitment whenever Houston isn't underwater.
