Default Air (Scoop) delete?

has anyone ever drove without the scoop kind of thing that hooks into the air box of the intake? i was guessing if you drove without one it would just suck up hot air, anyone?

Plenty of people. Anyone that gets an aftermarket intake besides a Joe-Z or F-Sport intake. Of course, you'll probably lose HP but it'll make your car louder. And yes, it just sucks up hot engine compartment air.

^It makes the car louder? Interesting because i left mine off for a day once since i had to remove it again the next day anyways and i didn't notice any more noise then usual.

No issues with doing this that i am aware of other than you will be sucking in hot air.

I removed mine and I have an intake pipe only using stock box I also removed my lower engine panels so now I can see straight through to the ground when looking under hood. I've had no issues and it sounds just like the f-sport box w/ f-sport intake for cheap

Well, I was referring to the aftermarket intakes, not the air scoop delete...

If you're looking for sound, I would suggest the F-Sport intake box, or just drill into your stock one. Kind of silly to lose power but sucking in hot engine air.

Aftermarket cold air intake such as injen, aem, etc (the ones with the cone), require to remove the airbox (maybe the scoop).

The scoop just grabs the cooler air from outside the vehicle and feeds it into the airbox. You will must likely be sucking in warmer air without the scoop.

There's quite a number of members who have the aftermarket intake setup.

I removed all my underbody panels. All they did was act like an anchor anyways collecting road grime, mud, and "crap"
Now I have no hot air in the engine bay

removing the scoop will yield 5-10 degrees warmer intake temps even while moving.

At full throttle, IAT's actually increase absent the snorkel. It does let some sound out though, if that's what you're after.
