The bass **** all the way down, with my bass at -2 spaces it still was louder then stock.... I also have a car with the alpine **** and it actually turns the gain off when all the way down... JL is completely different.

I got a similar set up except im running 2 12w6 subs @ 1ohm. With any amp you can get a **** using the RCAs, PAC makes the one im using. I actually have another 12w6 laying around that im trying to sell if anyone is going to set something up soon! I run my bass **** 1/4 way up with bass set flat on the head unit in most situations bass **** goes up for rock, i need to find a solution for the 3rd brake light rattle.
