Default Bad day for my IS350

*****Update*****

Here's how the car is now after dragging on repairs for a few months. Just got it back from frame straightening on Wednesday and test-fitting the replica Wald lip on. It still needs a new headlight from me messing it up while painting it. Also, still have to put in the new IS-F style grille I got and the gold front emblem. Redoing the projector shrouds to gold instead of yellow when I get the new headlight. So in the end, about $4K spent out of pocket on parts and repairs. Worth it in the end to see it back to normal with a carbon fiber hood and projector fogs!

So barely after a year of owing the car, I got into my first accident. It could have been avoided if I had stopped a feet or two earlier or if the other person actually tried to hit the brakes or swerve to the side. Basically the whole front end on my car is gone. Both fenders are messed up, hood didn't open (eventually got it open but won't close now), headlights no good, front bumper beat up, and the huge metal piece with the foam on it is bent. I couldn't open the hood but when I did, the engine bay just looked terrible. My intake filter got flattened, intake pipe cracked, and the throttle body looks a bit messed up. The fuse boxes are all out of place and none of the engine covers fit anymore. Also, the coolant hoses are torn up and leaked about a quart of coolant onto the floor covers. Bad day for me and the IS350, any one know the part numbers for the metal piece that's revealed/unpainted when you take the front engine cover off? Also, how much damage do you think this cost me? Thanks!

Well you have insurance right? Unfortunately with all the fitment issues you're talking about it sounds like it's gonna be pretty expensive

Only liability though. I'm 19 at the moment and they wanted $2400 cheapest for 6 months just for full coverage with a $500 deductible. I saved almost $5000 over the last year so it doesn't see bad that I didn't get full coverage. Most of the metal pieces just got bent and I'm going to try to see if they can be bent back in place tomorrow. I was just messing around and was able to bend a fender back in place.

Ouch that sucks man. Sorry it happened. I think the damage is going to cost quite a bit. Was the wreck your fault?

If you're saying your fuse boxes and under hood covers aren't fitting though that sounds pretty bad. That's crazy expensive insurance! Bummer, best of luck to ya!

Lesson learnt for me. My kid will get a car that he can walk off and not worry about fixing it.

Wow. That looks like 5-8k damage.

6K in damage is my quick estimate. Sorry bro!!! If it's his fault, then they should take care of you. You may even be able to cahnge up the front end with 2011 headlights and front bumper, grille if they fix it. Good luck!

Sadly, it was my fault. I was on a small street trying to cross a busy street. I stopped at the stop sign. Looked to the right to see if there are any oncoming cars since parked cars blocked my view of them, so I moved up a bit. I saw a car coming but was still far away. I looked to the left and no cars. So I proceed and when I look again to the right before crossing the center of the street, the car was approaching really fast. I slammed on my brakes and they seemed to not even try to stop in time. They hit me at maybe 30-40 MPH while I'm going 5-10 MPH. I got most of the damage since I was almost sitting still while they were traveling fast. Police said I'm at fault since I had a stop sign while they don't. Even though I stopped and tried to proceed when no cars were coming, they don't have to stop to let me pass even if I was in the intersection already.

glad your ok. hopefully this gets taken care of in a relatively quick manner for you. Looks like way more than 6-8K in damage. I had an incident with a deer once that didn't look nearly as bad as this and that was 6K
