Here's a rough picture I drew to depict how I have my LOC connected to the factory/aftermarket amps. Not the greatest of diagrams, but I hope it helps.
Note: colors may vary depending on your factory amp, but mine is an '06 non-ml non-navi IS.
Line out converter. Your Scosche SLC-4 set with the switch to Line Out. It takes the speaker inputs that you tap from the factory amplifier, and converts it into a line out (RCA) signal that you can then plug into an aftermarket amplifier.
Like I said, your colors might be different? That's just how I wired mine.
Heres a tip, don't tap the subwoofer speaker wire, tap the front door subwoofer for the full sound that you can then control with your amp freq dial thingy.

No not the mid speaker, there is actually a subwoofer in the door, it is the speaker furthest to the bottom. I'm not quite sure how this gets you more adjustability though because I only see high, mid, and low controls on the head unit (nav, non ML) I would love some more info on why you did this because I am going to add a sub too. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you use the door sub your aftermarket subs level will be effected by the fader control on your head unit.
Is there a thread on here that shows how to hook up/connect a SCOSCHE to a sub/amp
Only have 2 days off =( and I want to complete this project rather take it to a Shop
I am all truely about DIY

If you look at the picture you can clearly see the gain adjustment on this piece. Adjusting the gain can control some of the output that is coming from the amp which will change the sound levels coming from the speakers.

I understand their is gain control on the device, I was just wondering why you would tap the front door sub instead of the one in the back dash.
