Thinking about selling my IS250 - what next?
So here is a quick rundown.... I have an IS250 awd ... bought it because of my long commute to work. I'll be moving (buying my first house) only 3 miles from the office so I really don't need a "nice" car for such a short drive. So since I'll be so close to work and now have a mortgage I would like to cut out my car payment.
What I would like in a car:
Used
Foreign
Reliability and/or cheap fixes
Still look somewhat nice and/or have some zip
FWD
After I sell my car and/or trade-in and pay off school loans I will have about 10k +/- to buy something with
What I am looking:
2000 Civic si (the car I had before my IS250 - Loved it)
05/06 Altima SE-R
04+ Saab 9-3
07+ Camry SE
RSX
Any opinions or other suggestions?!

Could look at:

Volkswagen GTI (http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false).
I had friends in high school who had each of those cars and they were a blast.

Volvo S60 (http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false)
My girlfriend has this car, it's great, peppy and good gas mileage.

Just throwing them out there. One thing I'll say is that luxury brands like Acura will still be expensive to repair no matter what year/mileage it is. My friend has a 2003 RSX he likes a lot, but the prices quoted to him for repairs match those that Lexus dealerships give me for my 2007 IS350.

Not a fan of WRXs and the GTI.
I like the newer body style TL a lot... those were a thought.
S60 hadn't been on my radar.

A lot of poor choices in vehicles you have, even the Saab made me nearly vomit, name what you are looking for as far as year, size, engine size, as well as drivetrain and I can pull a few good ones. I could find some good cars in a snap, I frankly hate the new gti and impreza cars.

Practical with style/zip and paid for is the name of the game this time around. All the other toys are paid for, so it would be nice to drop a car payment.

well since your budget is around 10k+-, i'd suggest an Accord/TSX. had them before my lexus and they were great cars and inexpensive too. besides honda has a strong reputation imo

I would suggest a E46 post-facelifted(2002-2005) 3-series sedan. My older sister has a 04, runs super fine, and still looks extremely good in today's standard. She doesn't want to replace it with anything, not even the newer 3-series. Also, It is not as complicated as E90/E92 electronically speaking, so relatively easier to maintain. Among the ones you listed there, RSX gets my vote. It is very good looking, agile, has a somewhat peppy engine(Type S especially, but only comes with manual transmission), and Honda reliability.

High Mileage IS350... Do it. BMW's aren't worth CRAP so you can get a 2005 BMW 550i for under 10k. I think BMW's are the fastest depresiating vehicle known to man.. and they look good though it would cost $10k a yr in maintenance... never mind, get a Camry
