Default Just Drove Through Flooded Street

I know, i know, i shouldnt have done it, however i couldnt turn around. My car is lowered which made me even more nervous, however i drove my car through a flooded street and the water im sure was above the bottom of my door line. No water entered into the cars cabin but i did see traces of water spots inside the spare area. im suprised my fog lights still work since they were submerged, and also im sure my exhaust was underwater also. but i had a question, what do i need to check out? since i drove through a flood, everything on the car seems fine, no check engine light, car didnt stall, all lights work, car drives the same. i read about checking the oil and that looks normal also. Just to give you an idea of how high the water was on my car compared to that beetle

well as long as your car was running, then water will not go into the exhaust. i cant really comment on anything else but that should make you feel a little better

You are probably straight man. The biggest thing when going through deep water is to not let off the gas. If you want, go jump on the highway and drive a good 50 miles to let the engine, cats, and parts warm up to dry out any remaining water. In the end, you are good to go I'm sure. You know if there was a problem.

Ouch yeah. From what you are describing, I would say the car is fine. I am assuming since you check the oil, it didn't look milky. That's some pretty deep water.

yeah, surprisingly there was no water in the fogs and the very least i thought the water would short out the fog wires since it was submerged...(knock on wood)

Damn.. what prevented you from turning around? I **** my pants if I put my car through that. Engine wise it should be ok. Hydrolocking isn't my concern as the intake duct is higher than the water, but it is the water that may come into the cabin that I would be worried. Glad your car held out the water. Go take it for a long drive to dry it out!

i was in the middle of the road, where the water is lowest, so if i did a u turn i would turn right iinto the deeper side of the street where that beetle is, so i just took the middle of the road route. yeah i felt around the carpet area and floor, and it was not wet at all....good lexus door seal!...however i will prop open the bottom door panel to see if theres water in there though
