Default Blackout chrome window trim

I am wanting to blackout my window trim. Does anyone know if I remove the weather stripping first? It is already coming off in some places. I want to use shadowline black vinyl.

I didn't remove the weather stripping. Just layed down the vinyl, cut, and done.

Thanks for the reply. Did you put the vinyl over chrome and the weatherstripping or just the chrome?

You'd hate my car.... There is nothing on it that isn't black. Literally not one thing. (less you count the rotor surface area where the pad meets)

I removed my window trim and then painted a flat black. You do have to remove the weatherstrip to expose the rivets that hold the molding in place. You will then need to drill out all the rivets, and remove front door panels to remove side mirrors as they hold the molding down around bottom of window. You do not need to remove the rear door panel to get those trims out (just weather strip and same rivets.
