Default CD Player Compatibility??

Hey guys, my CD player in my 2006 IS350 is spoilt. Nothing happens when I press Load. No lights, no noises, no beeps. I hear a beep when I press and hold the eject button, but I don't see anything happening.

I was planning to buy one from eBay and replace it on my own. However there seems to be a lot of different models which range from P1801 to P1809. Can somebody explain to me what those numbers mean and which ones are compatible with my car.

Also I have no clue whether I have a ML system or not. It doesn't say it on the CD player, but on my dashboard next to windshield I have a speaker, and if I remember correctly, that speaker only exists for ML systems.

Thanks.

Maybe if you switch to an 2006 IS250 radio, it won't have that problem. My 2006 IS250 plays burn cd fine but when I try to put the cds in my RX330, it does what yours does. Sometimes it just reads an error code and I can't get the cds out.

If you have ML, it will say ML on the face of the CD/nav unit.

From what I understand, all cars have a speaker cover right in the center of the dash near the windshield. However, cars without ML don't actually have a speaker there. My car is a 2007 IS350 without ML and it has the speaker grille cover you're referring to, but does not have a speaker in it.

Correct, that speaker grille is there on all 2IS models, it only has a speaker on ML models.

Hmm, slightly off topic, but is it possible to add a speaker in that empty slot? ML or aftermarket.

Whats the P number on the IS250 CD player. Shouldn't IS350 and IS250 have the same radio?

Thanks for all the help.
