Haha I figured that picture would be a CL member...

So you have a HIDExtra 3000K kit? I have a DDM Tuning 3000K kit and it looks nothing like that, it's a much paler yellow. I wonder how much of the difference between ours is due to the brand and how much is due to the yellow overlays. I would bet the overlays make it quite a bit more golden.

Can you remember specifically what overlays you have? I think I'd like to grab them.

Car looks great by the way.

In my case Im assuming I would only need to buy the hidextra 3k bulbs since I already have the ballasts?
yup your correct. unless are ballast are bad

agreed! color output would have to vary by bulbs/company.

What brand of overlays did you use and how did it affect the color output?

Yes that's correct. When I had the 3k fogs, they were from iJDMtoy and were very nice. Now I have JLC 6k's and am very satisfied. Its pretty much personal preference, but from my own experience, the 2 companies I listed are the best in my opinion

Get the aerotect overlays. If you pair those with yellow fogs, you'll get a deeper, more jdm yellow.

The aerotect overlays are the best! Most durable and looks the best. Wet apply it, I dry applied by first pair of overlays and it looked like *****! Waited a couple days to see if the bubbles would go away but did not so i ripped them off and bought new ones. Wet application is so much better!

I found this pic on another thread and I wanted to know how to get my fogs to have such a nice deep yellow color. What 3K HID bulb do you guys recommend? What brand of overlays? Any other suggestions?
Seems like you already got your answer. I ordered the yellow overlays from lamin-x for my 2011 IS. These seem to get good reviews from most folks and were $17 shipped, so won't kill your pockets if they don't turn out as good. I'm gonna see how these look first before deciding on a kit or bulbs. And going "double down" on overlays and a kit won't hurt for that perfect yellow color like 509IS350 has on his.

Here is the original thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...glights-3.html

509IS350 has by far the sickest yellow I've seen. Reminds me of the picture I saw that lead me to buy a white IS and yellow foglights:

So 509IS350, do you have the Aerotect overlays? Can anyone supply a link?

I'm going with these 28LEDs from VLEDs for the HID match.I've used them before on a RX.Only 14 watts and no heat.

They do have yellow/amber 28LEDs too but I don't know how they look.
