Default What to use to reseal headlights back up?

I painted my headlights and did a crappy job prying it open and sealing it back. Now the driver side headlight already has condensation inside and the headlight is sticking out more than the passenger side since I didn't reseal it perfectly. So what would you guys recommend I use to seal my headlights back up with?

A few people I've talked to have used silicone. When mine were done, the guy re-used the glue from my headlights and foglights

Yeah, a lot of people just reuse the factory glue by heating it up and putting the lenses back on. I did that but because of my dumb self prying the lights like crazy, most of the glue came off or went into big blobs. I should of used an oven to heat it up and just pull it apart but I used a heat gun and flat head cause I was afraid to use the oven again for food. I read silicone wasn't a good idea since it's to hold together and not as a seal and it doesn't bond with the factory glue. Some suggested me Nissan Sealer since it's melted rubber basically and when it heats up, it softens and spreads to even out. Good stuff from what I hear but it's almost $30 lol.

You heat the oven up to 250*, turn it off and put the headlight on a piece of cardboard. Nothing is going to diminish the quality of food cooked in it.

RTV silicone is an adhesive and sealant. Heat the headlight up to soften the glue, clamp it together until it cools and seal with the RTV.

Worth it IMO. That's what a lot of retrofitters use for their headlights.

+1 on Nissan's Rubber Butyl. That thing is great for sealing up headlights. You can also try Hondabond which you should be able to get for like $15 on ebay. The Nissan stuff is supposed to be better though.

I did a retrofit on my previous vehicle (Tacoma) and I used rubber butyl tape that I bought at NAPA. It was a Martin Senour brand It's easy to work with and relatively cheap. 3M Window Weld is the same stuff.

You can just heat the edges up again and and use clamps to hold it down and then I basically put my weight on mine for about 10 minutes. I used what was already there to reseal it. Make sure all the tabs and everything lines up correctly. While mine cooled down I left them in the closet with a dehumidifier.

Smart idea! I just actually heated up the edges and sat on the headlights for a minute or so since I don't got clamps around. I tried to reuse the glue on the headlights but since I did such a crappy job prying the headlights, some plastic got bent and the glue got redistributed to areas with blobs and other places have no glue. Best thing for me to do now is to clean off all the factory glue and make a good new seal. I'll get clamps like you said but I'll also toss in those silica packets to absorb any water since I don't have a dehumidifier.
