Default Phillips 5000K ultinon installed:sad:

I was excited to get 5000K d4s phillips install today, it turn out not what I like, it look exactly like my RX 350 d4s bulbs that I had on, the color look yellowish white, not as white, but it look better than my original d4s bulbs that came with my 07 IS It look like phillips has upgraded their d4s bulbs to get better color output? but I can tell you guys the d4s bulbs from 2010 RX350 has better color light output than my original 07, by looking at the bulbs that came off my 07 and the bulbs from 2010 RX350, they are two totally different design and look, the 2010 rx bulbs give out whiter than my 07 IS. Ok now get back to the point, today I received phillips 5000K d4s from Nigel, I was exciting to have them install for after two weeks of waiting and finally got them installed today, the output color its look exactly like my RX350 d4s bulbs same yellowish white, not flash white or pure white at all maybe it need some time to break in? but I wish it get a little whiter, I am kinda regret, if I knew it turn out yellowish like that, I could order the 6000K instead, here some pics that I took from my iphone.

this one the right one is stock rx bulb and the left is 5000k

this one is stock rx bulb

the only different from 5000k and my rx bulbs is the return wire is blue and the rx is green

They should burn in a little bit, and be a pure white. Shouldn't be any yellow once burned in. Just give it some time.

Yeah going from 4300k to 5000k won't make to much of a color change. If you can see to exchange it for the 6000k & you'll see a better difference.

Yep, with Philips Ultinon 6000K, it's pure white with no hint of any other colors, unlike other brands.

With the 5000K, you mention you can see what I belive is a hint of yellow. Is it when it reflects off the road or it's the light looking at it straight on comming out of the housing? In the picture the 5000K looks white comming from the housing.

I guess you maybe the first on the forum to try out 5000K since I have not seen actual pics of the 5000K for Ulitnon in action.

I have 5000k aftermarket (D2S, not D4S), and it's pure white. Philips, I would have expected to be pure white too. Maybe just an oddball set of bulbs? I'd wait and see if they burn in pure white though.

5000K would not burn pure white. It is more likely the color output is not accurate then for the brand you're using. More like what I see some 6000K bulbs, there is hint of blue in it, while Philips 6000K does not have any hint at all. As I would say, X Kelvin does not = X color as it varies from brand to brand.

If you notice these color charts, 5000K has some yellow in it.

yeah the RX bulbs is color output is better than the new 5000k ultinon I wish nigel would do the exchange, I wish i could go with 6000K at the first time, I would not recommend this 5000K at all, because it look just like my RX d4s bulbs in term of color output.
