Default HELP! navi touch screen dont work :(

My 2006 IS250's screen stopped working. The whole unit still works, just the "touch" function doesn't work. I tried whipping off the stains on my navi last night with a drip of water and a microfiber tower. Could that possibly be the problem? My warranty expired. Any advice would be great

has it been confirmed that the $50 dollar cure is the culprit? or is that just one single documented case so far

Its official..... Cheap Ribbon, I have heard of 2 confirmed cases where the cheap ribbon connector was the problem...

If your going to do it F*** testing all the leads, just soldier all four connectors... Last thing you want is to rip your unit out again to fix same problem different lead in 6 months! JMO

Let us know how it goes... Good Luck

The vents really aren't that hard to take out. Just takes a little patience.

10 months?! I would have gone nuts by then. If your not good at soldering, I would just take it to a shop and have them do it. I do not think I can live with my navi being broken for 10 months. Every time I get into the car it would drive me nuts.

Then you should try it out or pay someone to do it for you. I mean 10 months without air conditioner is tough.

It's something to do with the circuit connectors; I had the same issue two weeks agoand it was replaced under the lexus extended warranty. The cost for the new unit was around 1800

We just fixed vroomin350's NAVI using the less then $50 method. Well I just helped remove the NAVI out of the car but the procedure works flawlessly. Just ask vroomin350

I just fixed my touchscreen using that method and it worked. I resoldered all 4 traces on the ribbon cable. If your in the Bay Area, I could help you. PM if interested.

Jay you were more than a helping hand buddy, thanks again. and yes the $50 cure worked for me. Really it's more like a $20 cure, all you really need is a circuit writer pen, I bet my *** the culprit pins are always the same, 1 and 3.

And if ur slick return the pen for a full $20 refund make sure you keep your receipt
