?'s about putting on a black suede headliner and what to do with trim.
In my quest to save as much money on a few recent mods as possible I'm posting yet another thread asking for suggestions. pardon if its been covered before.
I dont want to do the headliner myself. Mostly because I dont want the frustration of first getting it out and second making it perfect with no wrinkles since I'm obsessive. I was told $400 for the headliner job itself. Does this seem right? I'd have no idea. Should i absolutely only go to a well known place or can anyone with any background in upholstery work do this? Point being should I be shopping for cheaper.
lastly I dont really want all that silver/white trim standing out but i'd almost rather leave it than paint it. What have you all done with your trim after a a headliner switch? I was thinking of wrapping the larger plastic pieces in neffy and then maybe some leather grips for the handles. Then the question is how much to wrap. The sun/moon roof and interior lighting console for example. How much to wrap? just the surround ? The ***** and buttons?
I've seen very few pics of a headliner swap and none that I can dig up show much of the trim. If you anyone has a lead on that that'd be great.
i was told $400 for the headliner. $250 to wrap parts after I buy the wrap, or $350 to paint them. And that seems a little absurd to me!? especially if i can save that $250 and easily wrap it myself.

Was it suede? and i'm not sure what you mean by the dashboard ? I'm just looking to get a new headliner and have some of the plastic trim surrounded by the headliner wrapped or painted.

Hmm. I've read that, I checked out sewell's website and couldnt find that part.
Is the black isf headliner suede or that "faux" suede or same material as on normal IS series, just black? I'm after the suede look..not just black
