Was jacking up my car and placed the jack stand in the wrong place. Long story short I ended up crushing something and I hope it isn't important. Anyone with expertise...PLEASE Help!
Does anyone know what this is exactly? And, did I destroy the structural integrity of my car or anything like that, or is this just a hollow bar that basically does nothing but hold the an underbody brace?
I actually used a jack like this and jack stands like these...Good thing I only put the stand on one side and realized it was getting crushed before it was too late.
Thanks Avarec, I just feel like everything under the car has a purpose...and I wanted to make sure I didn't throw anything off. I'll try not to sweat it.
^^That was my problem...I had the large jack under my car underneath the side rocker and couldn't find a good place for the stand, so I placed it there and found out the hard way that I shouldn't have.
Thanks brociouz...I see that you said, "I didn't want to bend that area with the jack notches and the chassis didn't seem very solid for some reason... maybe it was just whatever the coating was but when I knocked on it, it seemed hollow." Oooops...I jumped the gun and tried it anyway. Guess its not that big or a deal tho.
