It gives quicker and more acceleration when it's turned on. Some don't feel a difference, but I do.
BTW, if you're trying to save gas...don't use it.

all you need to know is that ultimately it makes your car slower

This is very misleading. The car is actually slower going from 0-60 WOT when in ECT PWR compared to the normal position.

OP, instead of creating a whole new thread, read this: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...wr-button.html

Search is your friend.

Although it may be slower in the 0-60 WOT, it definitely gives the gas pedal a sensitive feel. That's about it. I like driving around in the city with PWR ECT on.

This is also misleading. How many people drive in a straight line WOT 0-60 much at all? Unless you are at the strip, nobody can feel the thenths of a second you are losing in ECT PWR with a butt dyno.

From what I can tell all it does is increase throttle response (less mashing to get it to downshift) and holds the gear longer before upshifting. In the real world that makes the car "feel" faster. IMO.

If it holds gears longer and throttle response is quicker, then it is quicker for lane changes, passing, merging - I guess just not for 0-60 runs. My "real world" is the first scenario not drag racing.

How is what I said misleading? I stated an undisputable fact.

This topic has been discussed ad nauseum. Just go through an old thread, like the one I linked to previously.
