Default Anyone add side moldings to their IS

I thought side moldings would not only help prevent scratches but also add a different look to an IS.

Is that crazy? Will they look terrible? I notice several sites that sell them and match color to paint.

What do you think?

Cheers

I only know of one member on CL who has added side moldings: Gucamole

Here is a link to his pictures: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...hotoshoot.html

They don't flow well with the majority of CL members, but its your car so do whatever pleases you

I have them on my SGM (came that way from the previous owner) i'm not 100% on them i'm just concerned for the potential for the paint underneath to be a little different if I take them off so I haven't yet (fade).

My previous car had side molding, and they get scratched and chipped pretty bad from idiot people who don't care for others property. When this happens, it looks just as bad as if a car without moldings (like the IS) get door dings. Because of this, and the IS's smooth surface, I don't add moldings.

Side moldings remind me of my previous rides, Honda Civic and Acura Integra. So I'll pass on this.

However, if this is what you like OP, do it. To each their own. Only when it is installed will you actually know if you like them or not on the IS. Good luck.

^^ I second that. Side moldings makes your car look cheap
