I have a wife and two year old little girl and my IS250 work just fine for us. I keep her car seat in the trunk and put it in when I need it. We also have a Highlander and we use mostly when we are all going some where. I would suggest getting a small SUV like that because it's definitely more roomy for the whole family. I wouldn't sell the Lexus though because it will be fine for a small family.

My IS350 is one of our family cars (I sold my beloved Prelude..) and like many said, the rear is small but not impossible to fit a babyseat in there. Remind her its not a coupe. I have friends with coupes that are their family cars, so its just whether you can put up with the inconvenience. I love my car, despite the inconvenience of having a small rear seat, but in the end, it till gets the job done safely. Theres also nothing wrong with minivans. Minivans nowadays are getting more sporty and just cant complain about the space. When the IS is paid off, I'll be getting a Sienna. Check it out people, it's pretty nice.

Thanks everyone for the responses? funny thing is, you all jumped all over the family car aspect, and my question was about whether or not i should sell THIS car for $26k. So, she wants me to get a 4Runner limited or Mercedes GLK, she has a 2008 Corvette ZO6 and refuses to part with it.

So my question is: if I sell at $26 is that toooo gooood ooooff a deal for the buyer?r

$26k is a fair price, but you could probably do $2k-$3k better since its low mileage and in great condition.

So why do you need a family car and she doesnt? The only way you would need a bigger car is if you had 3 or more kids. I actually sold my S2000 and bought the IS350 as a family car because we are trying to have kids.

My wife has a 4wd SUV and I love it for trips, snow, take the dog places, haul stuff, ect... but she likes to drive it, I would never make her drive a car she didnt like or prefer just becuase I wanted an SUV 20% the time. She probably just wants the convinience of an SUV without having to drive it everyday. Stick to your guns since you obviously love your car.

BTW, what I did when I sold my S2000 (because I didnt really want to sell it) I listed it for $2,500 over KBB thinking that I would either keep it or sell it at a good deal for me. It had super low miles, 2 sets of wheels, was in 9.5 out of 10 shape, and was a rare/desireable color. It was on auto trader for 4 months and I got $2,000 over KBB for it. In the end, I was happy with the $ and I'm even happier with my IS350. Do what you want, not what she wants, but if you do sell, try and get $29-$30 out of it.

KBB has you $26-$27.5 Private Party,

and Retail is right at $30k.

hi guys, i went to KBB and quote my car at $30,095 for 07 IS350 fully load with excellent condition at 14,095 miles and autotrader quote me $23,500, why KBB quote more and autotrader less?

I think $26k is a good price. Your car has relatively low miles, is in great shape, and has a few extras. I'd bet the most you could get out of it would be around $27k, so $26k for a quick sale doesn't sound too bad.

I won't get into the discussion of the 2IS being or not being a family car, because it's all personal opinion and based on what you and your fiancee deem necessary. What I will say is that used car prices are at their peak right now. I genuinely don't believe there will be a better time to sell in the foreseeable future. Therefore I think you should do your best to sell it as soon as you can to capitalize on how hot the market is.

My 2007 IS350 had 56k miles when I bought it but it was also CPO, and it was from a dealer at $24,500. Do you have any warranty left, even a few months? If so, I'd argue you could get a bit more out of it, but not much. A major selling point for you will be that the car is just out of (or about to be out of) warranty, meaning you've been able to get everything addressed at a dealer and the car should be free of any issues.

I'd say $26k is a good price, not the top of the range, but solid. You might think about throwing up ads on eBay motors and the CL for sale forum ASAP (both are free) and see if you get any quick bites at $27-28k. Otherwise, you may not want to let the $26k sure thing get away.

26k is fair. Just to give you an idea my friend bought her 08 with 20k miles for 27,500 so 26k is pretty reasonable.
