Hi I'm in the market for a used 06 and up IS. Im torn on what to choose. Black, white, gray. Which model? Which options to get? Awd or not. Etc. Etc. Any feedback would help.
Thanks

I'd get exactly what I have.
In fact at the time I special ordered in order to do exactly that since it wasn't available otherwise.
350 because it's a tiny price premium for a huge performance jump... RWD because AWD is nearly worthless on a car with only 300 hp unless you spend a LOT of time climbing mountains in the snow... 08, as I think it's the best looking year...(07 would be my second choice, then swap wheels... I dislike nearly every single change they've made to the car after 08)... BSP/Cashmere as it's the best color combo available that year... and Sport package as I think it's the best option package ever offered for the car...XM, and ML without nav since the factory nav is kinda crap compared to a Garmin.

Got mine used w/ 6K on it. probably would have bought new with all the options I would have wanted like vented/heated perforated seats, self leveling HIDs and a bunch of other stuff instead of getting a bunch of stuff after market.

Color - It's a personal preference. Starfire Pearl is a really nice white, but GFM is very unique and awesome looking too. Gray and black are both good colors too, i avoided black just because of the swirls that are bound to happen
Model - Personal preference again. IS250 = better gas mileage. IS350 = More power. Either way you go, you can't go wrong and your still getting Lexus quality and a comfortable ride.
AWD - Don't need it in CA. Unless your a snow junkie and love going out to the mountains for some fun. Even then, people are saying RWD is pretty good.
Options?
I like my perforated leather with heated & cooled seats (tho its just a fan, not actually A/C seats)
Navigation if you want it. I didn't bite cuz i like having a portable one better that gets free map updates and can be switched car to car, plus i almost never use a nav. Plus after hearing a few horror stories here about people's touch screen's going dead and not being able to use Nav AND A/C....i'm kinda happy i didn't. lol
There's a bunch of other options - memory seats, HID's, headlight washers (very cool ), Bluetooth (standard on the newer ones)
My advice would be to try and buy a CPO (certified pre-owned) It will cost a bit more than a plain "used" one but you get a 3 year/100k total miles warranty which may just pay for itself if you ever have to have a big repair done on your IS lol
Just kinda shop around and see what you like. Try and find a fully loaded one so you can check out the features and judge for yourself what you would like/need vs what you don't care for. It may be tougher to find one right now because of low inventory and pretty good CPO sales, but you can find one!

I got the car I wanted in colors and options. I was torn between SGM and Crystal white, saw the 2 next to each other side by side and made up mind for the Crystal White with cashmere leather in a nano second. SGM looks milky and dirty if you are not standing on top of it while light shinning right above.

imo, black or gfm (black looks the classiest if you want to take the time to maintain)
is350 rwd w/ navi
& for sound system, depends on how you listen to your music
if you like to blast your music, i believe sticking to the stock pioneer system would be better
If you prefer clarity go with the ML
