Considering purchase of 2007 IS250 with 91,000 miles!! HELP!!
Just wondering how crazy this is to be considering this purchase. We run our cars into the ground and currently have 3...toyota, nissan, and ford all with over 150,000 miles!
Just wondering if it is worth the money on a vehicle with 91,000.
They are asking around $20,000.
I dont want to pay that, but just wondering about reliability at this point, would be buying from a reputable dealer, but not lexus dealer.
Any one have an opinion on this?!!
thanks

i think 20k for 91,000 is too much.i have friend he bought 08 with navagation 30,000 for 26k.so you do the math.if you look on autotrader.com and car.com or ebay.if you dont mind drive far couple hours to find a car.i did drive 2 hrs away to find a mercedes for my sis and i think i get really good deal and less expensive 5k in my dealer local

How many miles per year would you drive and how much longer do you expect out of the car? Modern cars can reach high mileages without any problems. Lots of 2IS I seen on Yahoo Autos or eBay Motors are well over 100,000k. Some guy on this forum reached 250,000k a while ago. I wouldn't do $20k for 91,000 miles. I bought my '07 IS350 for $20,300 almost a year ago with 49,271 miles on it.
Otherwise if the car is up to date on maintenance, you can check at any Lexus dealer, I wouldn't see anything wrong with a car almost 100k miles but just not for $20k though. Overall, Toyota/Lexus cars are fairly reliable and I wouldn't expect problems until the cars becomes really old in a few more years.

20k is high. You should be able to get 150k miles out of it with minimal problems, 200k+ with a bit of luck and a few repairs (hopefully nothing major like engine or transmission). Regardless, I am seeing these with 90+k for 16,500 on autotrader.com.

$20k seems too much for that mileage!
As far as reliability, these cars experience carbon build up every so often. If you choose to buy one with high miles on it, make sure to check if the major TSIBs were performed. An example is the one for grinding noise at start up. Many of the IS250s have this problem, but the fix is covered under powertrain warranty (6 year/70k miles). Also, 06-08 models have excessive front break dust.

20k is way too high imo. I paid 20,500 for my 2006 is250 with 31k miles 2 years ago. Yea i got a good deal, but i also searched for a long time! take some time and look around you'll be happy you did.

Check out this thread for some help on things to consider before purchase: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...e-threads.html
$20,000 is absolutely laughable for an '07 250 with 91,000. Even a 350 at that mileage should be less. Pass this one up unless they come down at least $4,000.
