Default disable DRL when low beam is on?

Is there a way to disable the DRL when the low beam is on? I just installed Philips Ultinon 6000k and it has a blue hint. The color doesnt match with the white LED DRL that comes with the 2011 models. I thought the DRL turns off once the low beam turns on but that isn't the case. The DRL stays on all the time on my 2011 IS.

The lights that you're seeing when your low beams are on are't the DRL's but the parking or city lights. The DRL's do turn off.

That's right... They are the parking lights because there are actually 2 bulbs that DRL section of the housing. You can juat buy some matching 6000k parking leds from v-leds, or I guess you could just remove the bulbs

I had been back and forth whether or not i should purchase the v-leds seeing that there may be an issue regarding them so i've been putting up with the contrast between these and my hid kit as well.

I didn't think of removing the bulbs which actually may be a nice option but wouldn't that cause a bulb error on the dashboard or does our lexus not have a warning light like this ?? TIA

^ I don't think removing the bulbs would throw up any warning lights, but it looks a lot better with the parking light IMO. The V-LED issues seems to involve only "high power" LEDs, and only certain users are experiencing problems. The best parking light bulbs V-LEDs sells are non high power, so there shouldn't be any issues.

Has anyone actually tried changing those LED parking light strips? if i cant change them, it looks like i might have to go with 5000k.. and even with 5000k, i've read that it still have that blue hint.. can someone confirm? i really want pure white on lows with no blue/purple mixed into it just to match the LED light stips... thanks

^ You're talking about with the 2011 headlights? I don't think anyone has changed them yet. 5000K is pretty close to a pure white, I think it would match pretty well.
