I've been a little under 24 inches ground to fender with no problems yet (knock on wood). There are wobbles and vibrations, but so far no ripped CV boots or messed up axles. I've been that low for over a month driving every day.

Update.

I've since raised the car up to 26.5 on all 4 corners.

The wobbling is still nearly gone...however it still rears its ugly head from time to time.

Much better.

i never realised how much of a headache the awd were. i was at 23" front and 22.75" rear on my 350rwd and never thought twice about it. is it cause by the angle of the cv joints after lowering?

im going to drop my awd on coils as well. Im not looking for any slammed look just wanna get rid of some of that ugly wheel gap. I really dont wanna run into problems with CV boots or a lot of scraping. Would 25 inches fender to ground be optimal for my needs? How is the vibration at that height? Should i go higher?

not sure how it is with the IS but my GS is actually at 25" now (center of fender to ground) and i still have vibrations. i was much lower and the vibrations were worse.

At 25" ground to fender you will not get rid of the wheel gap. At one time I was at 24.5" ground to fender and had a 1 finger gap in the front and none in the rear. Vibrations were still there, although not as bad. Either way, I hated the look of it and slammed it back down to 23.75" all around. Good luck!

I dont expect to remove ALL of the wheel gap, but a good amount of it. Right now im sitting so high... i will def leave some gap, just cause im scared something will go wrong with the cv boot. Sigh, AWD just gives me a headache

if it makes you feel better, cv boots are cheap

if your worried, why not just drop it with fsport springs? it gives you the look you are going for an a lot of AWD members have had good luck with them.

so is there any benefit going coils vs springs as it pertains to wobble? Or will they both wobble equally if I'm lowered more than 25"?

After reading this thread, I will not be lowering my car... haha

I just bought my car brand new, and the last thing I would want at 300Km are 'vibrations' and such.

Had about 1 year on my lowered 06 awd w/ tein s springs. So far, no "wobbles" but an awesome look and ride.
(knocks on wood)

I guess I'm one of the "lucky" ones?

Just the vibration but I don't really mind tho... haha
