Question Windshield install

Hi guys! I purchased a new windshield from sewell after mine cracked. Just want to know if I should have Lexus install it? or can I take it to a local glass shop and have them install? Also, will I need to purchase any special hardware designed for the windshield (ie brackets, adhesives)? Thanks in advance!!

It was like $649 after using my CL discount. Regular price is $945.

Just make sure you have an agreement with the installer. Since you did not purchase it from them there for no warranty on the glass.

You can have a glass shop do it as long as it's reputable. Just don't go with anything safelite related. They're terrible.

I actually had my windshield replaced with a PGW (used to be called PPG) recently. Looks great except the top end of the glass was short by 1mm (barely noticeable) and the extreme upper corners of the glass have a bit of waviness. But again it' something you'll never notice. Shop did a great job so I'd say you don't need Lexus to do it. Besides chances are, Lexus will end up bringing your car to some shop nearby anyway.

I have found a Lexus shop that can replace the windshield for me. However, they informed me that I can use aftermarket moldings, and that I can still use the clips. Should I go that route, or wait another week until OEM parts are delivered? Thanks

Did you buy the rain sensor tape that attaches the rain sensor to the windshield?
