Default No TPMS Sensors, and No Light??

Hey guys,

Maybe it's a noob question, but I recently got aftermarket wheels. I was planning on doing a Pipe Bomb, since after I swapped the wheels (with no TPMS sensors) the light came on. I've had the "check system" light for air pressure on for 2 days straight and suddenly it went away. As if everything's normal... it's been off for a couple of days now. Is this normal??

Thanks!

are your stock wheels somewhere near where the car park? I had the same issue because my stock wheels were in my garage, the light wont turn on unless i drive like 40 miles away. now i got the pipe bomb =)

Same here, my winter wheels are kept in my garage above my car so it picks up the TPMS. The distance to work and back doesn't trip the TPMS so I dont need a pipe bomb. And on the occasions when I make longer trips, once i'm back in the garage it resets itself.

I made a pipe bomb and it has worked flawlessly . The unecessary and numerous amounts of lights and warnings just for missing tpms is crazy.

It is against the the law to make modification on TPMS system and components.

It is easy to cheat the system without the sensors installed in the tires, but it does not make sense to toss the new technology away because your after-market wheels are not TPMS compatible. You can get custom solution to make wheels work with your TPMS sensors.

Just from my 2cents and I hope you will get it done right!

How close do these sensors need to be to the car for it to pick it up? I can no longer go down the drive way, that's how low I am (and how crappy my driveway is), so I park on the street. The car is parked a good 50-60 feet away from my stock wheels with sensors.
