Default How do I stop the beeping noise after I open my car door?

When I turn off the car and then open the door it starts the loudest, most obnoxious beeping. What is it doing - warning me that I opened the door? It's seriously driving me insane and I'm ready to start pulling out jumpers under the hood or something.

I have a 2009 IS350.

Does anyone know how to disable the beep ?

Thank you!!!

It is this, and I know what you are talking about. I am always looking back in the car wondering what I left on / forgot to close. But it is nothing, just telling you "hey, the door is open!"

The constant BEEEEEEEP is only when the car is still in gear with the door open with mine any way. and the beep beep beep constantly is when it's off with the door open like any other car does when the key is in the ignition! Not sure why the IS needs that though lol

When the door is open, on the door jam is a "rubber sensor" for lack of a better word. If you push this in, the noise goes away. (works for me!)

I'm pretty sure it happens when your door is open and then you turn off the engine.

I never noticed the beeping until after I lowered my car because now when I park my car in front of a curb, I'll get out to check how much space I have before I crush my bumper. If I'm good on space, I turn my engine off with the door open and "ding ding ding ding..."

Sometimes I'll just push the black rubber button on the door jamb to stop the dinging if my door is still open.

^ Nope, it's not listed as a setting and I asked a tech about it too. No dice. Just press the little rubber button in the door jamb.

Yup that's exactly what it is. It just happened to me today and I was like wtf?! BUT I realized these cars gets pissy when you do a number of things out of order. Like if your passenger takes off their seat belt BEFORE the car is at a complete stop. When they get out and you drive away you get a good 20 seconds of annoying beeping from the seat belt alarm. HOWEVER if you completely stop and they take off the seat belt when they exit and you drive away it chimes for half a second and resets. I guess Lexus is trying to teach us proper driving etiquette?!
