Default Will I regret getting 20's? Added random pictures too.

So I'm getting a little bored, and was considering getting 20's. I've noticed that 20's aren't popular among the 2is community. Why is this? Why are 19's preferred?

Also, I hear that the car sits higher with 20's. But I thought with the correct tires to maintain rolling diameter, height should be the same.

Added random pictures, with CL, they never hurt!

20s will not make the car sit higher for the reasons you stated, so don't worry about that.

20s will tend to be heavier, so that may be one reason. 2nd reason is that your ride quality will suffer quite a bit. 3rd, some people think that 20s look too big for this car.

I have a very odd set up of 20s in the rear, 19s in the front. I did this because I thought the tires were too small with 20s in the front and I feared them getting messed up real quick - but the 19s looked a tad small in the rear (with my rim design) so I opted for 20s. I like my set up but I'm sure there's plenty who would balk at 2 different sized rims.

So really, if you think you want 20s and can withstand the harsher ride, then do it. Worst case is you can sell em later on and go back to 19s.

If you don't care about either of those things, then go for it.

BoOst3d,

1) I have 2009 IS250 and thinking of going with 19s front and back. Not planning to lower the car or slam it. 19s should fit just fine with no rubbing and all, right?

2) What type of body kit do you have for your car (2nd pic)?

Thanks.

1.) 19s on a stock height car, not my thing but it should run if you're running the right offsets and tire sizes.

2.) Fabulous front lip and OEM GFX rear.

Your car looks great as-is? What springs are you on? How dark is that tint?

Thanks for all the replies! All your cars with 20's look awesome.

Thank you. H&R springs. Tint, not gonna lie, spent no time doing research. Went to the local shop, asked what tint he had warranty on. I had three choices. Dark(limo), medium or light. This is medium.

Your car might be my deciding factor. What are your wheel and tire specs? I don't want to have to further spend time on MORE modding to get these to fit. If I can run the 20's safe, I'd be down.

With getting H&R springs on tokico shocks and 35 series tires currently, I don't think I'll feel TOOO much of a difference, will I?

other than weight i see nothing wrong with 20s. In fact, if i could go back in time, i would probably rock some 20s myself instead of the 19s i went with

i think 20's are a bit too big for our wheel wells. 19's fit a bit better. 20's can look ok if you have a low hanging body kit like ing's or vertex
