Clear Bra Help Needed!!!!!!.......
I recently purchased a new 2011 IS250 F Sport edition. When I purchased my car I paid for a clear bra to be installed by the dealer (please no flaming). They said they would install the bra on the front end. Fast forward 2 weeks and I am getting my tint installed and the installer asks me who installed my clear bra and I told him. Well he points out a place near the driver side mirror that was coming up so I needed to take it back in and have it redone. However he also asked me if I only had them install the bra on the hood, fenders, and mirrors for any particular reason. He said they didn't install it on the bumper or the front lip that is on my car.
I was under the impression that when the dealer was installing it that it would be installed over the hood, fenders, bumper, front lip, and mirrors. I called the dealership back and they said they NEVER put a clear bra on the bumper or the front lip because of the material they are made of. Its easy to respray and fix the bumper and lip since it is a separate piece of the car. Does this sound right or should I insist on the dealer putting the clear bra on the bumper and front lip like I thought they were going to in the first place?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Dealer installed mine and I have it on the bumper, front lip, fenders, hood, and side mirrors.
The dealer went over different packages with the clear bra. Basically whatever package you went with determines what will be clear bra'd. I got the most expensive package which covers the whole front end. The clear bra on my hood only comes up half way.
I DD mine to work now and I have to say THANK GOD I installed a clear bra!

I didnt do the most expensive package, I did the second most expensive package. And the dealer said that it was going to cover the front end. He didnt say anything about the bumper and lip NOT being covered.
I DD mine to work as well. I have only driven it one week to work.

If you can, I would try to insist on it. If I heard "Front end", in my opinion, I would assume it included the bumper and lips.
When I got my 2011 IS350 F-Sport, the finance person tried to convince me to do the 3M clear bra for $1300 I think. I refused it. A family friend recommended a tint place that could do it for $600+ tax. The place covered what you said in your original topic plus the front bumper and even the lip pieces, along with the door edges and door handle cups. Actually, no fender though.
If you can get it done at the dealership, at least you don't have to worry about rock chips while you are on your way home after driving your car off the lot.

To clarify, oftentimes, when done by Lexus, only the bottom half of the hood, a little bit of the fenders, and the mirrors are clear bra'd, unless you request the front bumper specifically... Repairing a chip in the Hood or fenders is much more money than a little touch up on a plastic bumper (is the way I see it).

When I got the car the dealer quoted me a bra for around $800 but around ~$600 with their promo. I had my local tint shop do my 12" bra - hood, fenders, mirrors, headlights (no bumper) for $150.

I understand the bumper is easier to repair.. My issue is that I think the bumper should have been included when they did the install. I mean when someone mentions getting a clear bra put on their car what all do you think is covered?
Personally i think that includes:
part of hood,
fenders
mirrors
bumper
front lip
headlights
