I dont think so... To my knowledge, the LED strip will turn on when the Parking Lights are turned ON...
(not sure's if they have ot at 50% or 100%)

Again you were answered clearly here:

To get the LED's to come on, it is with one click on the stalk. The LED for the previous models is not a replacement to the DRL. However on the 2011 model, it is the DRL at full brightness. When you turn the headlights on, the brightness dims (I'd guess 50% dimmer). For the conversion on the other hand, the LED is at one brightness only and comes on with one click of the stalk. This allows the driver to turn off the LED's when necessary - remember, they are bright!

When you purchase the Sewell Kit.. They have completed ALL the necessary re-wiring process...

All you do is plug & play and swap relays...

This thread mainly covers buying a set of un-atlered headlights (new or used) and we show you how to get them to work...

in another words what Joe is trying to say is that the 2011 LED's are basically your new parking lights!

thanks Joe for clear that, the headlights I got without bulbs and ballasts, but it came with the turn signal flasher relay, so with this kit do I have to rerun the wire like you did? or I just plug into the car harness and turn the parking light to activate the LED? thanks and which wire color for 100% bright and which wire color for 50% dimmer?

Not sure where your sourcing your info....

To my knowledge they have it wired ONE way... and ONE brightness.... and it will not switch back & forth..
(see my post below with the Sewell quote)

Also, this thread is about installing them via the DIY method...

So I doubt anyone in this thread can supply pictures of the Sewell Kits wiring...

Joe I got the info from Sewell when I called them last week. Guess they are like any other stealership just trying to get me to buy there product. Sorry for the confusion I got mine to work on my 08 F the way you did yours.

is anyone working on a way to get the LED to be DRL on older models, or is that a futile effort?

Isn't that the point of this kit? lol

When u have the 2011 headlights installed you just have to disable DRL (I think - unless sewell re-wired them so there is no DRL), then turn the stalk to your "parking lights" to light up your LED DRLs.

If I understand correctly... its wired as your new "city lights". First click on the stalk activates your LEDs... 2nd click is low beams + LED
