Awesome job gays!!! Thanks to you I was able to swap my transmission by myself in 9 hours, ... My car has 160k but with this 2012 transmission with only 1000 miles it feels like a new car. I attached some documents for anybody up to the challenge. I followed this particular disassembly order: 1- remove lower oxygen sensors 2- remove "Y" muffler 3- remove drive shaft 4- remove lower engine plastic covers 5- disconnect top oxygen sensors 6- remove Headers left & right (top bolt from above and lower bolts from underneath the car) 7- remove transmission rubber mount while lowering transmission with a floor jack. ( fluid and coolant needs drainage at this point) 8- unbolt and disconnect Starter. 9- Unbolt Torque convertor from above. 10- Disconnect trans heater houses. Unbolt transmission using pneumatic or electrical 300lbs impact drive tool and long extensions (17mm bolt are super tight) 11-Remove transmission. 12- Remove A/C water drainage plug !!!! If you ever had trouble with water inside your car carpets. TORQUE CONVERTOR NEED TO BE WELL PUSHED IN AGINST TRANSMISSION HOUSING FOR ASSEMBLY.

With the jack underneath the transmission, remove the transmission bracket and lower your jack until transmission touches and is supported by the chassis and the top bolt become visible and ready to use a super long 1/2" extension and a 17" elbow socket, then use a 400 flbs Impact wrench or bigger to loosen up the bolts and you are all set.
Raise your transmission to level, slide out tours back to clear chassis and lowere...... Be sure to have disconnected coolant houses.
Good luck!

ive been putting off my transmission issues for a while now with everything else going on in life... ik its not good to do. It sometimes slips first to second gear also throws engine code for the infamous TCC solenoid. I was going to talk to a transmission shop and ask if I should get a whole new transmission or if they can just fix the solenoid. I heard it can be either way and they can only tell once the tranny is open, any info on this? thanks guys

Hello,
I want to update everyone that A960E from JDM Toyota Mark X with 4GRFSE is identical to Lexus IS250!!!
The installation of this JDM transmission went smoothly and functioning normally as expected!

What are you talking about? Of course I have, I've posted multiple builds I've done over the years, and I have built multiple engines and transmissions (I haven't rebuilt any automatics, but I have replaced them). Granted they weren't all Lexus-specific, but the 2JZ I built for my brother's Supra had a block from a JZZ31 SC300 if that counts, lol.

Smallport 4A-GZE during reassembly after I honed the block and replaced the rings and bearings using early largeport 4A-GE 16V cams for my AE86 build. I also disassembled the T50 transmission and cleaned/resealed it:
Building a 2JZ-GTE with Tomei rods and pistons for a JZA80:
Pulled apart the 2GR-FSE before swapping it into my IS to inspect and swap parts from the 4GR:
I've built several other 4A-GE's, 2JZ-GTE's, and removed/installed many other engines and transmissions over the years.
I'm still confused.
