The title says it all. From day 1, I've driven maybe 70% highway, 30% city. Just wanted to give everyone an idea of what your spark plugs might look like at 70,000 miles (69,200). I didn't change them myself, the Lexus dealership did during my 60,000 mile service. I don't know where my gap measure is, so not sure the gap.
Dang! I am at 76k and have GOT to at least pull mine to see if the previous owner changed them or not. I have been looking around, but the cheapest I have found them for is $14 each at my local Toyota dealer. Sewell has them for $12.95 each, but shipping makes it about the same price. Could you tell a performance difference after having them changed? My 350 has a slight stumble from time to time, and I believe the plugs to be the culprit.
How does your car feel after the new plugs are in? same or alot better??
I changed my out at 51,000 miles when I bought it. There was almost no difference in how my car performed. Acceleration and idling were pretty much the same. I maybe got a little better gas mileage.
the factory plugs come pre gapped so theres no need to adjust it before installing. mine had a some oil on it when i changed mine out.
if there are some oil on the spark lugs that you changed out is something wrong with the internal leak? i can be wrong? but i have change out spark lugs from my toyota with over 100k and the spark lugs are white burn tips but no oil on the spark thread like that?
possibly bad gaskets.. i floored the crap outta my car everysingle day.. if you look at my OLD DIY i forget how many miles but it was 60k+.. all those miles being floored lol not surprised i had oil on them.
It may very well be coincidence due to the slightly warmer weather we've had, but my MPG has gotten a little better since the spark plugs were changed. Also, my idles are slightly smoother.
