Default F-Sport Style Grille for 06-08 2IS from Option Racing (eBay)

I purchased the F-Sport style grille for 06-08 2IS from eBay and received it today!

I know, I know, replicas are shunned upon here. Trust me, if there was an OEM FSport grille available for 2006-2008 IS models, I would have purchased it.

Anyhow, I snapped some pictures with my cell phone.

Here is how it was packaged:

I didn't take pictures of it, but the grille was inside a clear plastic bag inside the box. No packing material, but it's in one piece and undamaged.

Here's what I received:

I'm not really sure why the "L" piece comes separate, but you can snap it into place inside the area designated for the grille, like this:

^^I didn't snap it into place, only placed it in there to see how it would fit/look. Hopefully the emblem will line up ok on it .

And here's a close-up (again, the "L" piece is not flush because it isn't snapped in yet):

It feels sturdy and looks to be pretty well constructed, but I can't yet speak for how well it fits. I will post pictures once I install it. I still have to pick up some 3M double stick for the emblem. Any suggestions on removing the emblem from the existing grille?

I'm really interested to see how this turns out. I've been eyeing this grill for some time now, but at $200 I felt it was a bit of an expensive risk.

How close is this, in terms of actual construction, to the real deal? The only reason I ask is I don't remember being able to see the back parts that connect the zig-zags on an is-f or fsport grill, although that may change once installed on the car.

If you click on the hyperlink in my original post (click the word eBay) you'll see I actually purchased a version that was selling for about $105 + $20 Shipping (and tax if you're in California).

I've never actually seen the OEM Fsport grille for the 09+ 2IS in person and didn't think to take notice of the ISF grille the last time I saw one. Someone once mentioned that the ISF grille does have those bars behind it and I took this picture from Sewell's website showing an IS-F grille:

The "L" piece looks really large and I'm slightly concerned that it will still show with the actual emblem on it. I guess I'll know soon enough! fingers crossed

$120! Nice! You should take a pic from that same angle when installed.

This is the one I had been looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-08...ht_6081wt_1167

Read the original post in its entirety. The "L" wasn't snapped into place.

Yeah the one above is $200. This one is $100, and they appear to be identical:
