Default Are you wondering what your car is worth?

I traded in my car yesterday. It was a 2006 IS350 ML, Nav, Luxury pkg. with 110k miles. Only blemish is a minor dent in the front bumper. Had a Tanabe axel back and an F5 intake.

I tried a couple different places to see where I was at and ended up getting $12.5k on trade in. I'm sure I could have sold it for more but I didn't want to deal with the flakes and BS of craigslist.

Kinda feel raped but we needed a car that could haul two kids in back.

Anyway, figured I'd throw it out there for anyone who was curious. They told me the car would probably be going to auction as it's too high a milage for them to put on the lot. If anyone wants to go steal it from them, it's at Dodge of Ontario.

don't listen to them and do not beat yourself up. Just remember that a trade will always sell low but you sheltered what you got in trade from taxes and you did not need to deal with lookie loos...

I know it was on the low end, but I got the new car for cost through Costco plus a $2500 rebate so all in all it worked out for us.

This is the first time I traded in a car. I normally would sell it private party but just didn't have the time or patience to do it. My truck has been for sale on CL for a couple weeks with very few bites. And it's listed up at "trade in" value. Even then, people are not buying at whole sale.

8k? maybe for run down high mile 1999-2001 RX300s, mine had 78k in perfect condition and it was an 02. I negotiated the price on my SC430 first and then told them I would buy today if I got what I wanted on my trader which at the time (december) was the private party value for my year and miles.

They were motivated to sell, which accounts for the majority of my deal.

Of course a dealer will low ball otherwise they can't make any money off it when they try to sell. As long as it's not an issue to you, that is all that matters. Not everyone has time to mess with selling to a private party.

I have two kids in car seats and they fit perfectly fine. In fact, I have more room in my IS than I do in my Pathfinder, as crazy as it sounds...

I was looking at a 2006 350 non-nav, non-ML w/ 65k at a dealer for $20,350. They probably only paid 16 for it. With almost double the miles, despite your sweet options packages, you're probably in the ballpark for dealer trade-in. They'll post it up for 16 or 17 now.

Was it a lexus dealership? Independent dealerships will always give you less. In my experience atleast.

Well I understand how you feel I just got my IS last month and I know for a fact I got raped on my trade in however sometimes having to pay a little more for that mistake is well worth it. It could have been a unbearable experience trying to sell it privately I have done that myself and I also took the dealer hit for trade in, nothing wrong with that. Althou it did sound like a sweet car lol, enjoy your next one !

110K miles is a lot, certainly impacts trade value tremendously. Was the car lowered on MRR wheels before?

What car did you replace it with?
